Most people don’t know this about me, but I am a kayaking expert. It didn’t start out that way. In fact, about three minutes into my first trip as I was stuck on a log in the middle of the river, wondering exactly what to do next and more importantly how to stay upright, I had doubts about the whole thing. By the time the trip was over, I had completely and totally mastered the art of navigating a tiny boat with a double-ended-oar-thing, and thanks to my cat like reflexes and keen observational skills, once I had dislodged myself from the log, I managed to make the rest of the trip with no incidents, with the exception of a small collision with a canoe, but you can’t really count that.
For a while the whole lightbox effect thing that I had going on with the photos on this site hasn’t really worked. Well, that is now a thing of the past. You can click on photos and get a lightbox-type effect now, as long as you wait for the entire page to load first.
And that’s not the only thing I fixed today, no sir. I also fixed a shoddy internet connection. Yep, after three hours of exhaustive work, I figured out the USB extension cable I was using was bad. I know, I’m good. I also changed out the toplink on my tractor, which sounds like way more work than it actually is, and I mowed the yard….partly. And then I held some kittens while medicine was shot down their throats, then I disinfected the 60 or so scratches on my hands and arms.
All in a days work.
I recently started trying out this whole Twitter fad. So far it’s pretty much like talking to myself since I follow no one and no one follows me. Well, I follow MacHeist and my profile says I have 7 followers but then it only shows one and I don’t even know where that came from, but it’s likely just an ad or something because I think it showed up after I tweeted about Windows 7, which by the way I have been using the release candidate for a while now and it’s a total piece of crap, but not as total a piece of crap as Vista, so way to go Microsoft. You have really outdone yourself.
