No Savings For You, Winter

November 16, 2009

ClockIt’s time for my annual I-hate-daylight-savings post or, more accurately, my I-hate-the-lack-of-daylight-savings-in-the-winter-months post. It’s not that I don’t enjoy stumbling around in the dark at 5:30pm, shivering like a chihuahua as I try to transport containers of wild animal feed around the yard so the area deer, cats, and two opossums named Scooter and Moped will not go hungry, or maybe that’s exactly it, I’m not certain. Or perhaps more likely,  it’s Daylight Saving’s cavalier attitude toward the winter months. That’s fine, go ahead and keep thinking you are too good to be saving daylight in the winter and I will continue stumbling over Scooter and Moped, but so help me if I stumble over a skunk I will drive to wherever you are and punch you straight in the neck.

Draft Day

November 15, 2009

Misc BoxI realize I haven’t posted here in a while but rather than come up with something awesome and hilarious I am going to paste  drafts of posts that were started but then came quickly to screeching halts. Here goes.

It’s roughly 736 degrees here right now and the foreseeable future is more of the same. On one hand it’s nice because my lawn no longer grows. On the other hand it’s not so nice because I almost died just walking out to the car. Plus I haven’t got to go biking in weeks for fear of bursting into flames.

I have become so accustomed to using a Mac, which I do 90% of the time, that I forgot how agonizing it can be to not only maintain Windows, but just to use it for mundane tasks. I’m not saying OSX is perfect, but I am saying I would like to light this Windows PC on fire and dance around it.

I got a bit of a sunburn today while swimming with hot chicks. It’s mostly concentrated on my face, which is not pleasant.

And that’s it. Three drafts that barely made it past the first sentence. And for good reason.
