Today I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a virtual machine using VirtualBox on my Mac and I have to say Ubuntu is coming along nicely, but that’s not what I wanted talk about. In the process of playing with Ubuntu, I noticed that VirtualBox has a seamless mode, which seamlessly integrates the OS of virtual machines into the host OS. How exciting. It’s the equivalent of VMWare’s Fusion and Parallel’s, um whatever they call that option on their product. Anyway, it’s way cool and I know what you are thinking. You’re thinking no it’s not. But you are wrong. It is seriously cool. I have Ubuntu applications floating around on my OSX desktop for crying out loud!!! They are all just meshing together into one big happening and it’s freaking me out man!
Sure, the technology has been around a long time, but now it’s in open source apps and that spells free.
