BRUUUUUUUCE

February 1, 2009

The past week, when I have not been working until 4am or running outside periodically with a hammer to beat the ice off of my central heat and air unit even though I don’t know exactly what the outdoor unit does but it has a fan and some vents and I am pretty sure it’s not good for it to be entirely encased in ice, I have been listening to the new Springsteen record. What a great record. His previous records have been fine, but there hasn’t been one like this in a while. It’s what I call good up close music, meaning it’s great for turning out the lights, kicking back and just coasting along with the music. There’s a particularly great song on there about a guy who robs a bank in a diaper or something like that. I’m not crystal clear on the details yet.

In case you haven’t heard, Captian Kurt and the Cardinals are playing in the Super Bowl tomorrow. The freaking Super Bowl, man! I haven’t been this excited since the last time Kurt played in the Super Bowl with the Rams.

Earlier this week we had an ice storm here. We were lucky because our power stayed on, but there was an entire day where my satellite dishes were frozen over and I had no TV and no Internet. Yeah, I know. It was touch and go there for a while but I pulled through, no thanks to Mother Nature.
