I’ve finally gone and done it. I moved my Mac from my living room, where I no longer need it’s media center services and relocated it on my office desk where I have begun using it full time. It’s something I wanted to do for a long time, but the cold, cruel world forced me to use Windows in it’s various incarnations. So far, after nine days of going from part time Mac user to full time Mac user, I have only booted my PC twice. The first time was to relocate work files to my Mac, and the second time was to create a backup in case it decides to freak out. I still have to keep the PC handy because, once again, the cold, cruel world and my job dictate to me that I must use it because everyone else does, and I am sure that periodically I will have to access it for some horrible, horrible reason. I will, however, only access it through remote desktop via the Mac so that I am still technically using the OS that I want to use. It’s a small victory, but a victory nonetheless.
To commemorate this wonderful occasion, I have written my own Mac commercial starring yours truly. It goes something like this.
Me : “Hello, I am a Mac”
Other Guy : “And I am a PC”
Me : “Say, does PC stand for Piece of Crap?”
Other Guy : “I’m sorry, did you say something? I was too busy basking in the glow of my market share.”
Me : “Oh yeah? Well…… SHUT UP!”
And then the apple logo would appear and the commercial would end.
