Over the past day and night, we received around 7 inches of snow. We don’t usually get anywhere near that much around here so it was pretty cool, literally and figuratively. But what’s even more cool is a brand new iMac. Here it is in all it’s powered off glory on my desk, just waiting to be awesome.
And now, back to the snow.
My new iMac came in this weekend and today I completed my first day of work using it. It’s pretty much all downhill from here. Nothing I can ever use or do from this point forward will match the awesomeness of this device. I practically sat down in front of it this morning, experienced a vague warming sensation and then the day was over and all of my work had pretty much done itself. And to top it all off, my desk went from a giant pile of cords with a few devices sticking up out of it to one giant device with two cords that I can’t even see from where I am. Oh oh oh!! The mouse is magic, too. It scrolls with no scroll wheel. It left and right clicks with no buttons. It freaks me out.
This past weekend, I placed an order for a brand spanking new 27″ quad core iMac. That’s right, four cores!! The processor is a Core i5 which is confusing since it is four cores but five i’s. I don’t pretend to understand the correlation there, but one thing I do understand is LED backlighting, which it also has. I am so excited I would insert grunting noises here if I knew how. I am not sure when it will actually arrive at my door, but when it does I will dance the dance of joy.
